Challenges in meeting the complexities of the psychosocial and medical issues of older adults - practical applications of psychotherapy theories and techniques.
This workshop will address practical applications of theories and techniques utilizing interactive case presentations. Participants will gain a basic understanding of the history and development of the ageing individual in psychotherapeutic treatment.
Social workers, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists and all individuals interested in the front-line practical application of psychotherapeutic approaches toward care of the elderly are encouraged to attend this practical, hands-on workshop. No prior psychotherapy training is required.
Learning Objective
Workshop participants will learn how to choose an appropriate modality and how to integrate psychotherapeutic treatment into complex cases.
